Cal-Bucknell Post-Game Notes
May 22, 2010
-This was the first meeting between Cal and Bucknell in program history.
-With the win, Cal improves to 42-17 overall, 55-31 in Regional games and 76-53 overall in the NCAA postseason.
-The perfect game thrown by Jolene Henderson was the first for her and the first for a Bear in the postseason.
-Previously, Henderson had three complete-game one-hitters, including one against then-No. 6/5 UCLA (May 9). Two of those one-hit games were shutouts - Davis (March 14) and Sacramento State (April 7).
-This is Cal's 25th trip to the postseason.
-With two steals versus Bucknell, Jamia Reid tied her own personal Cal record for steals in a season with 47, which she set in her freshman campaign (47). She holds the all-time career record with 93.
-Shannon Thomas is two shy of breaking her single-season steal record of 33 with 31 stolen bases after she stole twice against the Bison. She now has 64 career steals in just two years in a Cal uniform, placing her fourth on the career list.
-Henderson's 10 strikeouts tied her second-best outing this year.
-The Valerie Arioto homer was her first in Regional play. It was her 17th of the season and the 29th of her career. Arioto's home run also gave her sole possession of third place on the career home-run list with 29. Prior to Friday's game, Arioto was tied for third with 28 roundtrippers with Melanie McCart.
-Cal's 10 runs marked the second-highest game total for the Bears, a feat they have now achieved thrice this year. The season high for runs in 2010 was 11, which occurred twice.
