May 24, 2010
BERKELEY - Cal football head coach Jeff Tedford will be a guest on Comcast SportsNet Bay Area's Chronicle Live television show this Tuesday, May 25 (5-6 p.m. PT). The special 'Say Hey Tuesday' edition of the show will air live from Willie Mays Plaza at AT&T Park, where Cal will play its home games in 2011 after a final season in the current configuration of Memorial Stadium in 2010. The Bears will return to a renovated Memorial Stadium in 2012.
The show, which is produced in partnership with the San Francisco Chronicle sports department, also replays on Comcast SportsNet Bay Area at 11 p.m. and Comcast SportsNet California at 6 p.m. and midnight. In addition, Chronicle Live is available on Comcast Digital Cable's ON DEMAND Channel 1 and a live stream of the show can be viewed online from 5-6 p.m. at CSNBayarea.com.
Other guests scheduled to appear Tuesday with Tedford and host Greg Papa include Larry Baer (San Francisco Giants president and chief operating officer), Rich Aurilia (CSN Giants analyst) and Paul Gutierrez (Sacramento Bee sportswriter).
In conjunction with the television show, Chronicle Live Interactive on CSNBayarea.com allows fans to interact with Papa and show guests, generate show content through engaging community features, and play an integral part in developing the show format and tone by sharing fan perspectives and opinions.
Cal's football program ranks second in victories among Pac-10 teams with a 67-35 record since Tedford took over the Golden Bears' head coaching position in 2002. Cal has posted winning seasons in each of Tedford's first eight campaigns, making him one of only eight Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) head coaches to have a current string of eight consecutive winning seasons, with only six of the coaches having accomplished the feat at the same school. Cal extended its school-record run of bowl appearances to seven in 2009. He has also posted a 7-1 mark in Big Games against Stanford, equaling the legendary Pappy Waldorf for the most victories ever by a Cal coach in Big Game history.
Cal opens its 2010 season vs. UC Davis on Saturday, Sept. 4. The upcoming campaign also includes visits from Arizona State, Colorado, Oregon, Stanford, UCLA and Washington during a seven-game home schedule.
