Barte Into Singles Round Of 16 At NCAAs; Mallory Burdette Falls

ATHENS, Ga.- Hilary Barte moved into the round of 16 while Mallory Burdette's postseason singles run came to an end on Thursday afternoon at the 2010 NCAA Women's Tennis Championships.

Barte easily handled Denver's Ute Schnoy 6-1, 6-2 in the second round on Thursday, and will face Mississippi's Kristi Boxx on Friday in the round of 16.

Also competing in the singles draw, Mallory Burdette was upended by Miami's Laura Vallverdu 6-4, 6-0 in the second round. Burdette wrapped up her rookie season at 38-6 overall and 24-2 in dual match play, marks that lead the Cardinal.

On the first day of doubles play, Stanford's team of Barte and Lindsay Burdette collected a 6-4, 6-2 win over Georgia Tech's Irina Falconi and Sasha Krupina.
