Husky Football Makes The Sporting News Preseason Top 25

May 27, 2010

The Washington football team earned the No. 25 spot in The Sporting News preseason top 100 rankings, released earlier this week.

The Huskies, under second-year head coach Steve Sarkisian, posted the largest improvement in the nation among BCS programs last season, in terms of number of wins, finishing the year 5-7 overall.

Washington was one of three teams from the Pac-10 to make the top 25. Oregon was No. 11 and USC earned the No. 16 spot. Nine of the conference's 10 teams make the top 100.

The Huskies open the 2010 season on Sept. 4, in Provo, Utah, taking on BYU, which, incidentally, was ranked No. 45 by TSN.
