Rowe Advances In Hurdles At NCAA Pre-Qualifying Meet

Lindsay Rowe advanced to the quarterfinal round of the 100m hurdles at the NCAA Pre-National Qualifying Meet in Austin, TX.

Rowe automatically advanced to the quarterfinal rounds of the 100m hurdles after finishing second in heat two with a solid time of 13.31. She placed seventh overall and will run for a spot at Nationals on Saturday.

Turquoise Thompson and Ashlea McLaughlin weren't as lucky as Rowe as both missed a spot at the NCAA Championships by finishing 13th in their respective events (top 12 advance).

Thompson finished fourth in heat three of the 400m hurdles (58.25). She seemed to have some issue with her right hamstring around the 200m mark, but was able to continue racing. Thompson was able to move back into the top four, but was edged out over the final 10m, finishing 13th overall. The freshman was ranked ninth in the NCAA (56.92) heading into this weekend's meet. McLaughlin finished sixth in heat three and 13th overall in the 400m, running 53.43.

Krishna Curry finished ninth in heat one of the 800m and 27th overall 2:20.58) and will not advance to the NCAA Championships.

In the 200m, Yasmin Woodruff was eighth in heat two and 27th overall with a time of 24.25. She does not advance to the quarterfinal round on Saturday.

Danielle Watson finished 18th in the long jump with a mark of 19-11.75 and will not advance to Nationals.

Competition concludes on Saturday with the 4x400m relay, 5000m (Murakami), 100m hurdles (Rowe), Mariah Gibson in the high jump and Ke'Nyia Richardson in the triple jump.
