USC incoming freshman Vlad Morozov set two national high school records in late May while fellow incoming freshmen Chase Bloch, Meghan Hawthorne, Lynette Lim, Andrea Basaraba and Kasey Carlson joined Morozov by winning recent CIF titles.

The Trojans have one of the top incoming classes for the 2010-2011 season. Joining the class as 2010 spring signings were Dimitri Colupaev from Mainz, Germany, and Stina Gardell from Vallingby, Sweden. The rest of the class includes Andrea Basaraba from La Jolla, Calif., Bloch from Westlake, Calif., Kasey Carlson (also a national high school record holder) from Walnut Creek, Calif., Meghan Hawthorne from West Hills, Calif., Nick Johnson from Sacramento, Calif., Lim from Palm Springs, Calif., Morozov of Torrance, Calif., Sean Mulroy from La Grange, Ill., Amanda Smith from Cincinnati, Ohio, and John Wagner from Valley Stream, N.Y.

Morozov set national high school records this week at the 2010 CIF Southern Section Division III Championships and at the CIF Southern Section Masters Meet. His first record came at the CIF Division III Championships, where his opening 50 yards of the 200y free relay (19.43) broke a national mark. After winning CIF titles in the 100y fly and the 100y back, he came back at the CIF Masters meet to lead off a 400y free relay with a 100 yards in 42.87 for another national record.

Hawthorne set the CIF Southern Section Division I record en route to a title in the 200y IM (1:58.74) and she also won a title in the 100y fly. Bloch won CIF Southern Section Division II titles in the 100y back and the 100y fly as well as helping Oaks Christian to a pair of relay titles.
