Velasquez Earns PING All-Region Team

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Oregon State's Diego Velasquez has been named to the Division I All-Region team according to the Golf Coaches Association of America.

Velasquez, a senior from Bogota, Colombia, entered the NCAA Championships with a 70.36 scoring average in 2009-10, which would set the single season record at Oregon State. Velasquez has tallied seven top 10 finishes this season, which ranks second on OSU's all-time list.

Early in the season, Velasquez won the prestigious Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate by an incredible seven strokes and finished 10-under for the tournament.

The Beavers are in action this week at the NCAA Championships at The Honors Course at Ooltewah, Tenn. OSU entered the second round of play, Wednesday, tied for 20th.
