Kraig Sitton Selected By Colorado In MLB First-Year Player Draft

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Oregon State left-handed pitcher Kraig Sitton has been selected by the Colorado Rockies in the seventh round (230th overall) of the 2010 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft on Tuesday.

Peavey is Oregon State's third selection, behind fifth-rounder Tyler Waldron (Pittsburgh) and sixth-rounder Greg Peavey (New York Mets).

The selection is the second of Sitton's career as the Carlton, Ore., native was selected in the 17th round of the 2009 draft by the Boston Red Sox.

Sitton recently completed his redshirt junior season with the Beavers and went 1-2 with a 3.89 ERA, tallying three saves in 37 innings of work. He struck out 30 and kept opponents to a .239 average.

Through three seasons at Oregon State, Sitton is 4-5 with a 3.94 ERA, and has four saves while throwing in 82 1/3 innings (74 appearances, one start). He has struck out 80 while opponents are hitting .243 against him.
