June 9, 2010
WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - The Washington State University men's and women's golf teams each placed two student-athletes on the Pacific-10 Conference All-Academic Teams, Commissioner Larry Scott announced recently.
Senior men's golfer Nick Grigsby and redshirt junior women's golfer Allison Travis were each named first-team Pac-10 All-Academic, while sophomore men's golfer Trent Sanders and sophomore women's golfer Kristen Allard were each named honorable mention.
Travis, an accounting major from Boise, Idaho, posted the highest grade-point average amongst the women's first and second teams (3.97). Grigsby, from Spokane, Wash., owns a grade-point average of 3.47 in management and operations, fourth-best amongst the men's first and second teams.
WSU was one of just three schools in the conference to have both a men's and women's golfer on the first team.
To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant contributor.
