Follow The Oregon State Baseball Players As They Play Summer Baseball

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State baseball team’s 2010 campaign came to an end last Sunday in Gainesville, but for many of the Beavers, they’ll still have a chance to play this year. Summer baseball is just about here, and here’s a list of which Beavers are playing in which leagues and for what clubs.
Alaska Baseball League
JJ Turbin – Athletes In Action
The Skinny: The ABL is a six-team league that plays 45 league games and up to five non-league games. The season started June 10 and runs through August 3. The league champion and second-place club qualify for the National Baseball Congress World Series. Teams play with a roster limit of 24, plus an exemption for Alaska residents.
The Skinny: The Cape Cod League is one of the most prestigious summer leagues, with many current Major Leaguers tracing their histories back to the league. It is comprised of 10 teams that are scheduled to play 44 games apiece. The top four teams in each division quality for the playoffs. They play a three rounds of best of three series. League play starts June 13 and ends August 15. Roster limits are 25.
The Skinny: The Northwoods League plays a 70-game schedule with 17 teams populating the league. Play started June 2 and ends August 22. First-half and second-half division winners meet in a best-of-three followed by a best-of-three championship series. The roster limit for clubs is 26.
West Coast League

The Skinny: The WCL is a nine-team league that plays 48 games starting June 4 and running through August 8. Clubs have a roster limit of 28.
The Skinny: WCL-Tri-State is a give-team league that plays 24 games starting June 18 and running through August 1. Clubs have a roster limit of 28.
