June 14, 2010
Washington designated hitter Chase Anselment has been named a third-team Freshman All-America by Ping! Baseball, a website that covers college baseball.
Anselment, a true freshman from Meadowdale High, batted .347 in 124 at bats and was the Huskies' most oft-used DH while also seeing time in the outfield and at catcher. He added seven doubles, two triples and six home runs while driving in 28.
Anselment has already gotten his summer season off to a good start as he's gone 4-for-9 with a double, a homer and two RBI in two games for the Kitsap BlueJackets of the Western Collegiate League.
