MBA Stars for British U-23 Team

LILLE, France -- Matthew Bryan-Amaning led the Great Britain U23 Futures Team to a 90-61 victory over Luxembourgh on Sunday to help the Brits claim second place at a French Tournament. Bryan-Amaning scored a team-high 25 points to help GB cap a 2-1 record in the three-day, four-team tournament in Lille, France.
The lone loss for the British team came on Saturday against France, where MBA's squad led the entire way until France scored with six seconds left to win 71-70. Bryan-Amaning had a team-high 16 points and also added six rebounds in that contest.
In GB's first win of the tournament, Bryan-Amaning had a team-high 26 points in an 83-68 win over Belgium. His team expanded a one point halftime lead with 11 quick points in the second half to pull away.
In all, MBA averaged 22.3 points in the three games.
Up next for Bryan-Amaning is a training camp and tryouts with England's National Team, which will include several NBA players including Luol Deng and Ben Gordon. The team will play several games (click here for schedule) in the 2011 EuroBasketball Qualifiers starting on Aug. 2.
