Get An Early Look At 2011 Softball Schedule
June 22, 2010
An early version of the 2011 Washington softball schedule is now out. As always, the Huskies face a tough early-season schedule at some of the top tournaments in the nation before taking on the always-challenging Pac-10 Conference.
Washington opens the season February 11 at a tournament in Las Vegas and follows that with back-to-back weekends in California at tournaments in San Diego and Cathedral City. One more weekend on the road, at a tournament in Albuquerque, N.M., is on tap before the Huskies return to Seattle for the Husky Softball Class March 11-13.
Prior to the start of conference play, the Huskies make their annual trip to the Judi Garman Classic in Fullerton March 16-20.
Pac-10 play opens with consecutive home weekends against Oregon and California April 1-3 and April 8-10, respectively. Under the current conference scheduling format, in 2011, the Huskies will have three series at home and four on the road (in 2010, it was the opposite).
So, following those two series, it's three straight Pac-10 road trips for the UW as the Huskies will face Arizona, UCLA and Stanford. The final home series of the season comes vs. Arizona State May 6-8 before the regular season ends with three games at Oregon State.
In 2011, NCAA Regional play will take place May 20-22 with Super Regionals the following weekend. The 2011 Women's College World Series, in Oklahoma City, will be held June 2-8.
The schedule is still tentative and subject to change. Game times for all games, and specific schedules for all of the early-season tournaments will be posted when available.
