June 22, 2010
Incoming UCLA freshman Kelly Reeves continues to train this summer with the U.S. Women's Junior National Team, which will participate in the upcoming NORCECA Women's Junior Continental Championship (U-20) in Tijuana, Mexico (July 4-12).
In May, Reeves was one of 12 players named to the U.S. Women's JNT roster. The 6-foot outside hitter recently completed her senior season at Cathedral Catholic High School and helped the Dons to their second straight CIF Division III state title.
Reeves has already tallied success at the USA Volleyball level, winning gold as a member of the U.S. Youth National Team at the 2008 NORCECA Girls' Youth Continental Championships. In '07, she won a silver medal with the USA Select White Team at the USA Volleyball High Performance Championships. She was also a member of the 2006 USA Select Blue Team that competed at the USA Volleyball High Performance Championships.
USA Volleyball recently wrote an article on the Reeves' lineage, which begins with her mother, Jeanne (Beauprey), who was an All-American and two-time National Champion as an assistant coach at UCLA.
