Past, Present Wildcats in Action at USA's

DES MOINES, Iowa – The collegiate track and field regular season may be over, but The University of Arizona’s program still has some work to do over the next week as several athletes take part at the USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Des Moines, Iowa.
Select members of both the men’s and women’s programs will compete against the some of the top collegiate and professional athletes for a shot to prove themselves as being among the nation’s elite.
Senior Liz Patterson will compete in her last official meet in the Wildcat uniform representing the UA in the high jump along with her teammate, freshman Brigetta Barrett. Patterson was the 2010 NCAA Indoor National Champion in the event and finished as the runner-up outdoors. Barrett was an All-American indoors and outdoors.
Patterson enters with the second highest seed in the competition while Barrett holds the fifth best mark.
Junior Christina Rodgers will take part in the 800-meter run, coming fresh off the first All-American finish of her career in taking fourth place at the NCAA Championships in Eugene two weekends ago.
Redshirt freshman Georganne Moline will compete in the 400-meter hurdles after her first NCAA Championship appearance and opening season that saw the youngster set the fifth fastest time in Arizona history.
At the USA Junior Championships, freshman Nick Ross will also compete in the high jump. Ross was just named the Pac-10 Conference’s Newcomer of the Year last week.
Current athletes aren’t the only Wildcats represented this weekend as two-time NCAA decathlete National Champion Jake Arnold and four-time throwing All-American Adam Kuehl represent the notable alumni in the field.
Events begin tomorrow at Drake Stadium and will continue through to the weekend.
