Oregon's Blood Earns Academic All-America Honors

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- The 2009-10 ESPN The Magazine All-America Women's Track and Field and Cross Country Teams chosen by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) were announced today and OREGON senior Nicole Blood was a second team honoree.
Blood of Saratoga Springs, N.Y., is one of the most decorated female student-athletes in school history, earning All-America status nine times. With a grade point average of 3.47 in journalism, Blood is a four-time Pac-10 Champion (cross country, 5,000 meters (twice) and 10,000 meters) who holds the school record in the 5,000m (15:38.61). The senior has been selected to ESPN The Magazine All-Academic Team for the third-consecutive season. This season, Blood led the Ducks to their second-straight Pac-10 Championship and a runner-up finish at the NCAA Championships for the second year in a row.
