Richmond Finishes Seventh at Washington Women's Amateur

SEQUIM, Wash. -- Darcie Richmond, who just completed her sophomore season at Washington, finished seventh on Thursday at the 2010 Washington State Golf Association Women's Amateur Championships being played at The Cedars at Dungeness Golf Course in Sequim.

Richmond equaled the day's best score with a 1-over 73 and ended the tournament at +13 overall (76-80-73-229). She carded three birdies, two bogeys and a double bogey on Thursday.

Incoming freshman Kelli Bowers tied for 14th overall and was +26 for the tourney (78-85-79-242). She shot a 7-over 79 in Thursday's final round.

Choi Moves Onto Semifinals at Women's Western Golf Association
ROCHESTER, Minn. -- Incoming Husky freshman A Ram Choi advanced to the semifinals of match play in the Flight One division of the WWGA National Amateur Championships on Thursday.

Choi, from Surrey, B.C., beat Emily Johnson 1-up to advance to Friday's semifinals.

Also competing at Rochester Golf and Country Club was UW sophomorek-to-be Brittany Tallman, but her tournament came to an end when she lost 4 and 3 to Alexis Nelson.
