Volleyball Greenshirt Zimmerman Named Fab 50

Corvallis, Ore.  Greenshirt freshman Kelsey Zimmerman

(Bend, Ore.) has been named to the 2010 Sports Imports/Volleyball Magazine Fab 50 to Watch in the March/April edition of Volleyball Magazine.


 Zimmerman, a 6-1 outside hitter from Summit High School, becomes the first Oregon State player to be named to this list. She joins 13 other players who have committed to Pac-10 schools.


Kelsey Zimmerman

began classes at Oregon State in the Winter 2010 term after earning back-to-back All-State Tournament First Team honors as a sophomore and junior. Last season she earned All-State First Team honors, adding All-IMC First Team accolades after leading her team to a third place finish at the Oregon Class 4A State Tournament. As a sophomore, she was named to Prep Volleyball's top 79 sophomores. She was named the Qwest Player of the game in the championship match with her team finishing second in state.


During the 2009 season, Zimmerman was a unanimous choice to the All-State First Team, as well as All-State Tournament First Team, after leading her team to an OSAA 5A Tournament second place finish. She was also named Intermountain Conference Co-Player of the Year and an Oregon State Championship Qwest Player of the Game.
