Gaddy Helps Team USA Blowout Virgin Islands

SAN ANTONIO -- Abdul Gaddy scored 11 points and dished out a team-high five assists in a 131-63 first round FIBA U19 World Championship win by Team USA over the Virgin Islands on Saturday.

Gaddy came off the bench to play 16 minutes and shot 4-of-7 from the field in the 68 point win over the outmatched Virgin Island squad. Nine Americans scored in double figures, led by Austin Rivers -- son of Boston Celtics coach Doc Rivers.

The Americans jumped ou 35-8 in the first quarter and never looked back. They led 62-28 at the break.

The U.S. team plays Mexico on Sunday at 5:00 p.m. (PT).
