Stanford's Bobby Warshaw Named Soccer America Preseason All-American
WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - STANFORD's Bobby Warshaw has been named a Soccer America Preseason All-American, it was announced Thursday. The Cardinal defender, a 2009 NSCAA All-American, is also on the watch list for the 2010 MAC Hermann Trophy, given to the top collegiate men's soccer player in the country.
Warshaw was honored in 2009 with his second first-team All-Pac-10 selection. The Cardinal's team captain, Warshaw led the team in scoring for the third straight season while helping Stanford reach the round of 16 in the 2009 NCAA Tournament. He made the move to defense after after two years as a forward.
Stanford, ranked No. 13 in the NSCAA Preseason Poll, kicks off its 2010 season at Vermont on Wed., Sept. 1.
