Boysen Breaks Through For USC Win in OT
LOS ANGELES, CALIF. - The USC women's soccer team outplayed visiting No. 21 Auburn, but held back its heroics until overtime of today's game in the Trojan Invitational at McAlister Field. After scoreless regulation play in which the Women of Troy had the Tigers doubled up in the shooting column, freshman Haley Boysen broke through with her first career goal as a Trojan to net a 1-0 win for USC early in the first overtime period. The victory improves USC to 3-1-2 overall and moves No. 21 Auburn to 4-2.
Beavers stay perfect with 1-0 shutout of Portland State
CORVALLIS, Ore. - The No. 20 Oregon State women's soccer team remains perfect on the season after taking down Portland State 1-0 Friday night at Paul Lorenz Field. Junior Melinda Ingalls picked up her third goal of the season while fellow junior and goalkeeper Colleen Boyd moves to 4-0-0 on the season with her three saves in the match.

BERKELEY - California volleyball sophomore opposite hitter Correy Johnson logged a season-high 10 kills (0e, 19att) on a .526 attack percentage to lead the 10th-ranked Golden Bears (5-0) to a three-set sweep (25-21, 25-17, 25-16) of UC Davis (3-3) in the 2010 Hilton Garden Inn Classic at Haas Pavilion on Friday, Sept. 10. Cal has now won 15 consecutive sets and maintained status quo by attacking over .310 for the fifth straight match. Paced by senior setter Carli Lloyd's match-high 32 assists, the Bears posted a .359 attack rate with 43 kills (10e) on 92 attacks.

TEMPE, Ariz. - With Sarah Reaves moving to fifth in the ASU Career kills list, the Sun Devil Volleyball Team (3-5 overall) opened the 2010 ASU Sheraton Invitational Friday with a five-set win over High Point before falling in the nightcap to Utah Valley in five. Against the Panthers, the Sun Devils won 23-25, 25-18, 19-25, 25-19 and 15-13 before embroiling themselves in a vicious nightcap loss to Utah Valley, falling in a tough five sets 19-25, 25-13, 26-28, 14-25 and 13-15. ASU wraps the day 3-5 on the season with one match left to go on the weekend.
