California's Paul Named Pac-10 Men's Soccer Player of the Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - CALIFORNIA senior forward Davis Paul was named Pac-10 Men's Soccer Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 7-13, Commissioner Larry Scott announced today.

The Upland, Calif., native was the leading scorer in the Cal Legacy Classic, tallying three goals and six points. He scored twice, including the game-winner, in the Golden Bears' 3-0 blanking of UNLV on Sept. 12. Paul scored the equalizer with just four seconds remaining in regulation to send the game against Saint Mary's into overtime on Sept. 10. named Paul to its Team of the Week for his play in the tournament in which host Cal finished second.

This is Paul's first weekly honor and Cal's 16th all-time Pac-10 Player of the Week.

The Golden Bears stay close to home and face two West Coast Conference opponents in the Bay Area Classic this week. Cal travels to Santa Clara to face the Broncos on Thursday, Sept. 16, and then hosts San Francisco in Berkeley on Sunday, Sept. 19.
