Pac-10 Game of the Week
PLAYERS TO WATCH
>> QB Nick Foles - Junior. The tall armed pocket passer has put up impressive numbers to start the season. He will have to continue his stellar play to have a chance against a talented Hawkeye squad.
>> RB Nic Grigsby - Senior. One of the most talented runners in the Mike Stoops era. Already 3rd on school's career rushing list.
>> WO Juron Criner - Junior. Already has 12 catches for 236 yards for the season. Fast and speedy in/out of breaks with ability to go the distance on any play. On the Biletnikoff Award Watch List.
>> DE Rick Elmore - Senior. Has to charge upfield and disrupt QB Stanzi more than once. Shows speed off the edge.
>> QB Ricky Stanzi - Senior. Very efficient passer is vastly under rated on the national level.
>> DE Adrian Clayborn - Senior. This 290 pound DE is one of the most heralded linemen in the country and is a cinch top-10 pick in next April's NFL Draft.
>> DE Karl Klug - Senior. Senior-dominated defensive line one of the best in the country.
>> OH Adam Robinson - Sophmore. This super soph already has 265 yards rushing and 4 touchdowns.
Iowa will find out what the rest of the Pac-10 already knows: A night game in Tucson is as loud and raucous as any stadium in the country. The noise factor will be a key factor for a disciplined team like Iowa, which has committed only five penalties to date. Iowa must score early in an attempt to take the crowd out of it.
Expect Wildcats coach Mike Stoops to call blitzes often to disrupt the flow of Iowa's efficient offense led by senior QB Ricky Stanzi. Turnovers will be the difference and if the Wildcats keep the game close into the late stages, they have an excellent chance to come away with a victory.
