PULLMAN, Wash. - Karin Volpe's team leading eighth goal of the season proved to be enough offense for the No. 25 Arizona State women's soccer team on Friday as the Sun Devils downed Washington State 1-0 in the Pac-10 opener for both teams.

EUGENE, Ore. - Chelsea Buckland scored twice, as the 23rd-ranked Oregon State women's soccer team took down in state rival Oregon, 3-2, Friday night in Eugene, in its Pacific-10 Conference opener in front of a crowd of 1,280.

LOS ANGELES - Playing in her first match since returning from camp with the U.S. Women's National Team, forward Sydney Leroux scored the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory over No. 16 Cal at Drake Stadium on Friday evening.
No. 14/19 Cal Routs Oregon State, 5-0
CORVALLIS, Ore. - Ted Jones' first goal of the season was the eventual gamewinner in No. 14/19 California's 5-0 rout of Oregon State on Friday night at Paul Lorenz Field. A.J. Soares scored twice, Tony Salciccia scored his first of the year and John Fitzpatrick netted his team-high tying fourth goal of 2010 for the Golden Bears. Cal improved its record to 6-1-2 (2-0-0 in the Pac-10), while the Beavers fell to 6-4-0 (1-2-0 Pac-10).
Owens' Career Night Sparks Wildcats to 3-2 Win
CORVALLIS, Ore. - Senior outside hitter Tiffany Owens put her Wildcat teammates squarely on her back Friday night vs. Oregon State as she went for a career-best 32 kills on .426 hitting and 20 digs as Arizona came back from a deficit to defeat the Beavers, 3-2 at Gill Coliseum.
No. 7 Bears Block Out No. 12 Bruins in Four
LOS ANGELES - California volleyball sophomore middle hitter Kat Brown served rejection notice to UCLA as she put up a career-high 10 blocks to help the Golden Bears (15-0, 5-0 Pac-10) to a four-set win (25-18, 18-25, 25-15, 25-22) over No. 12 UCLA (11-4, 1-3 Pac-10) at Pauley Pavilion on Friday, Oct. 8. Junior outside hitter Tarah Murrey powered the Cal offense once again as she logged 20 kills (6e, 41att, .341).
No. 13 Ducks Extinguish Sun Devils, 3-1
EUGENE - The No. 13 University of Oregon volleyball team (15-2, 3-2) raised its home winning streak to eight matches Friday night with a 3-1 win over Arizona State (5-11, 0-4). Oregon posted its fifth straight win over the Sun Devils thanks to its 19-25, 25-15, 28-26, 25-21 victory - also sixth-year head coach Jim Moore's seventh victory in the series after ASU won 16 straight from 1998-2005.

LOS ANGELES - Behind senior outside hitter Alix Klineman's 27 kills, the No. 1 Stanford women's volleyball team came-from-behind to defeat No. 8 USC, 18-25, 25-23, 25-20, 25-15, Friday at the Galen Center in Los Angeles. The Cardinal (14-0) keeps its undefeated record in tact and moves to 5-0 in the Pac-10, while the Trojans fall to 13-2 overall and 2-2 in the conference.
No. 9 Huskies Take Down Cougars In Three
SEATTLE - The ninth-ranked Husky volleyball team picked up steam throughout its rivalry match with Washington State tonight, pulling away for a 29-27, 25-18, 25-15 victory in front of a season-best 3,865 fans at Hec Edmundson Pavilion tonight. Three Huskies posted double-figure kill totals as UW improved to 15-1 overall and 4-1 in Pac-10 play. WSU dropped to 6-9 and 0-5 in conference.
