WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- USC senior defender Karter Haug was named Pac-10 Women's Soccer Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 26-Nov. 1, Commissioner Larry Scott announced today.

The Castle Rock, Colo., native has played a role in USC's game-winning goals in the past three games and over the weekend had a hand in four of the five goals the Trojans scored.

Haug's first career game-winning goal came on Friday in the 83rd minute against Washington State when she netted an arching shot from 30 yards out into the top left corner of the goal, to give the Trojans the 3-2 comeback win. She also added an assist on the first goal against the Cougars. On Senior Day against Washington on Sunday, Haug tallied two more assists, first setting up the Trojans' game-winning strike in the 45th minute and then adding her third assist of the weekend on teammate Ashli Sandoval's 80th-minute goal.

In addition to her offensive support, Haug anchored a USC defense which held WSU and Washington to just three shots apiece, notching its sixth shutout of the year in the 2-0 win over the Huskies.

Haug currently leads the Trojans with six assists on the year and is tied for third with 10 points overall.

This is Haug's first career Player of the Week honor and USC's 22nd all-time.

Haug and the Trojans look to extend their four-game unbeaten streak as they finish up Pac-10 play on the road at Arizona State on Friday and at Arizona on Sunday.
