Big Second Half Leads ASU to 58-47 Win Over UC Riverside

RIVERSIDE, Calif. - Dymond Simon scored a game-high 15 points and Kali Bennett grabbed 11 rebounds as the Arizona State women's basketball team improved to 2-0 with a 58-47 win over UC Riverside on Sunday.

California Downs Saint Mary's, 89-63
BERKELEY, Calif. - The California women's basketball team began the season 2-0 after finishing off a weekend homestand sweep with a 89-63 victory over the Saint Mary's Gaels. DeNesha Stallworth dominated with her second double-double of the weekend.

No. 3 Stanford Opens With 63-50 Victory Over Rutgers
STANFORD, Calif. (AP) - Nnemkadi Ogwumike gave her younger sister passing marks for her college debut. Ogwumike scored 20 points and her sister Chiney Ogwumike added nine points and 12 rebounds to help No. 3 Stanford beat Rutgers 63-50 Sunday.

No. 15/16 UCLA Defeats UCSB, 66-52
Los Angeles, Calif. - No. 15/16 UCLA improved to 2-0 on the season after a 66-52 victory over visiting UC Santa Barbara on Sunday afternoon. Four UCLA players were in double-figure scoring, led by Jasmine Dixon and Markel Walker, who had 12 points each. Atonye Nyingifa and Darxia Morris added 10 points apiece.

Williams Downs Portland State As UW Wins Opener, 51-50
SEATTLE - Mollie Williams' final shot swished when it needed to most. That allowed the gritty Huskies to overcome injuries, a tough shooting debut and foul trouble to rally past Portland State 51-50 at Hec Edmundson Pavilion.

Beavers Open With 71-56 Win Over UT-Arlington
CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) - Omari Johnson scored 15 points and Ahmad Starks added 14 in his collegiate debut to help Oregon State to a 71-56 victory over Texas-Arlington on Sunday.

Comeback Kids: Ducks Top Gauchos
EUGENE, Ore. - The Oregon men's basketball team overcame a halftime deficit for the third-consecutive night in a 72-70 win over UC Santa Barbara at McArthur Court in the BTI Invitational on Sunday night.
