Paul Sends Cal Past UCSB 2-1 in NCAA Second Round
BERKELEY - Davis Paul's golden goal with one second remaining in the first overtime gave sixth-seeded California a 2-1 sudden victory over UC Santa Barbara in the NCAA Tournament's second round on Sunday afternoon on Goldman Field at Edwards Stadium. The Gauchos played most of the game with only 10 men after Luis Silva picked up a red card in the 25th minute.
UCLA Advances To 3rd Round With 4-1 Win Over Sac State
Eighth-seeded UCLA scored four unanswered goals in a 30-minute span in the second half and ousted Sacramento State, 4-1, in the second round of the NCAA Tournament at Drake Stadium on Sunday night. Sophomore forward Chandler Hoffman extended his scoring streak to four games with two goals, and freshmen Reed Williams and Victor Chavez also scored for the Bruins.
