California's Stallworth Named Pac-10 Women's Basketball Player of the Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- CALIFORNIA sophomore forward DeNesha Stallworth was named Pac-10 Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Dec. 6-12, Commissioner Larry Scott announced today.

The Richmond, Calif., native led the Golden Bears to a 82-56 home victory over Long Beach State on Saturday night. Stallworth dominated the low post, scoring a season-high 27 points on 12-of-18 shooting in 30 minutes of play to lead the squad. She was 4-6 from the charity stripe and added four rebounds in the win.

This is Stallworth's first-career Player of the Week honor and California's 36th all-time.

The Golden Bears will take their 6-2 record on the road next weekend, traveling to the Las Vegas Holiday Hoops Tournament. They face UT-Arlington on Sunday, Dec. 19 followed by Texas Tech on Monday, Dec. 20.
