This Week in Pac-10 Women's Basketball

With finals and the semester all wrapped up, Pac-10 teams are gearing up for their final couple weeks of non-conference competition. This week could be a big week for the second-ranked Cardinal, who is on the verge of history. Stanford head coach Tara VanDerveer is one victory away from No. 800 for her career, which would make her just the fifth coach in NCAA women's basketball history to achieve the milestone. She gets her first crack at #800 on Thursday when the Cardinal travel to DePaul. Later this week, Stanford also travels to a notoriously tough venue traveling to sixth-ranked Tennessee to take on another legendary coach in Pat Summit. The game will be televised live on ESPN2 on Dec. 19.

No. 9 UCLA has earned its highest ranking in over a decade this week and travels to the Hawai'i Tournament and USC hosts its annual Women of Troy Classic. All teams but Washington are in action this week.
