Wildcats Win Pac-10 Opener Against Oregon
TUCSON, Ariz. - The University of Arizona Wildcat women's basketball team won its Pac-10 opener on Friday at McKale Center. For the first time since Jan., 16, 2010, the Wildcats eclipsed the 100-point mark with a 109-94 win over the Oregon Ducks. Arizona advances to 10-2 overall and 1-0 in conference play. Oregon falls to 9-3 overall and 0-1 in conference play.
ASU Opens Pac-10 Play with Narrow Win Over Oregon State
TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - Kimberly Brandon scored a career-high 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead Arizona State past Oregon State 49-46 Friday night in the Pac-10 opener for both teams.
No. 8 UCLA Rallies Past Washington, 60-48
SEATTLE (AP) - Rebekah Gardner came off the bench to hit a trio of 3-pointers and lead UCLA with 15 points, and the Bruins rallied from an eight-point deficit early in the second half to hold off upset-minded Washington 60-48 on Friday.
USC Women Ring Up 72-57 Win Over WSU
LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The USC women's basketball team iced its best start in 14 years and opened up Pac-10 play with a road win as the Trojans posted a 72-57 victory over host Washington State on New Year's Eve afternoon in Pullman, Wash. USC's fifth straight win came thanks to another set of four players hitting double digits, led by freshman Cassie Harberts' first career double-double.
