Pac-10 Teams Continue Top-10 Presence in USTFCCCA Rankings
WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Four men's and six women's teams from the Pac-10 are ranked in the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) rankings, the organization announced Tuesday.
On the men's side, USC continues to lead the Conference with a No. 7 ranking. The Trojans recently won the Trojan Tri-Meet. STANFORD is ranked eighth, followed by No. 10 OREGON, who jumped two spots, and UCLA, who moved up three spots to No. 21.
The Oregon women are ranked No. 3 behind two-time defending NCAA Outdoor National Champion Texas A&M and LSU. USC and ARIZONA join the Ducks in the top-10, ranking No. 6 and No. 10, respectively. This marks the highest rankings for the Wildcats in the three-year history of the computer rankings. ARIZONA STATE is ranked No. 15, followed by No. 16 Stanford and No. 18 WASHINGTON STATE.
The 2011 Pac-10 Conference Track and Field Championships will take place May 6-7 (multis) and May 13-14 at Drachman Stadium, in Tucson, Ariz.
