The ARIZONA Wildcats reached the Elite Eight where they bowed out of the NCAA Tournament to eventual national champion Connecticut just one three-pointer short of reaching the Final Four, the WASHINGTON STATE Cougars reached the semifinals of the NIT, and the OREGON Ducks captured the CBI crown to give the Pac-10 its second title in three seasons of the CBI Tournament.
Oregon's Joevan Catron earned CBI Tournament Most Outstanding Player honors, while All-America honors rolled in for Arizona's Derrick Williams, who was a consensus Second Team All-America selection. He earned second team honors by the USBWA, NABC and the Associated Press, as well as collecting John R. Wooden All-America honors.
Five Pac-10 teams won 20 or more games for the fourth time in five seasons.
The road was a tough place to play in league action as the home team held a 58-32 (.644) advantage. It was the most wins compiled by the home teams since 1999 (62-28).
The road looks to be a little tougher in 2011-12 as the Conference expands to include two more stops on the league schedule with the addition of Colorado and Utah. The tentative 2011-12 Pac-12 league schedule is on page 7.
