WALNUT CREEK, Calif. —WASHINGTON STATE sophomore midfielder Eileen Maes has been named Pac-12 Women's Player of the Week for Aug. 15-22, Commissioner Larry Scott announced Tuesday.

Maes completed a hat trick on the first night of the 2011 season to give the Cougars a 3-1 win over Hawai'i. The Oakland, Calif., native took three shots in the match—all in the second half—and converted each one.

It was the second hat trick of her career, making her the second Cougar in WSU history to have multiple matches with three or more goals, according to Washington State Athletics. Maes accomplished the feat in just under 22 minutes.

This is Maes' second Conference Player of the Week honor and the ninth selection all-time for Washington State.

The Cougars face Portland on the road Friday at 7 p.m. PT; then host Seattle on Sunday at 1 p.m. PT.

Also Nominated: Lauren Battung, CAL; Hayley Hughes, COLO; Julie Armstrong, ORE; Camille Levin, STAN; Cheyanne Mulcock, UTAH; Brianna Sweeney, WASH.
