Byass Named Player of the Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - SAN DIEGO STATE sophomore forward Miles Byass was named Pac-12 Men's Soccer Player of the Week for the week of August 23-29, Commissioner Larry Scott announced today.

The Highland, Calif., native came off the bench to score the game-winning goal in the 42nd minute and assisted on the game-tying goal in the 38th minute to help the Aztecs win their season opener over Canisus, 2-1. Byass had three shots in just 44 minutes of action. Dating back to last year, the forward now has six goals over his last six matches. San Diego State won its first season-opening game since 2006.

This is Byass' first weekly honor and San Diego State's 13th all-time Player of the Week.

The Aztecs welcome Long Island on Friday, Sept. 2 at 1:30 p.m. PT before traveling across town to face San Diego on Sunday, Sept. 4 at 8 p.m. PT.
