This Week in Pac-12 Women's Soccer
STANFORD (13-0-1, 5-0-0) remains the top-ranked team in the country for the fifth consecutive week after upending USC and then-No. 3 UCLA this past weekend. The sweep also brought head coach Paul Ratcliffe his 200th and 201st career coaching victories. He is 146-35-19 in his nine seasons with the Cardinal, but coached for five years at St. Mary's prior to his current position.
UCLA (10-102, 3-1-1) dropped down to No. 6 in the NSCAA poll after a scoreless draw with CALIFORNIA and a loss at Stanford. OREGON STATE (10-3-1, 4-1-0) continues its slow but steady climb up the rankings to No. 18 this week.
Stanford forward Chioma Ubogagu takes Bank of the West Pac-12 Women's Soccer Player of the Week honors after scoring two goals in the first 18 minutes of Sunday's 4-1 victory over the Bruins. The freshman also took five shots in Friday's 3-0 win over USC. Ubogagu now has six goals on the season.
The No. 1 Cardinal will play under the national spotlight Friday when Stanford faces ARIZONA STATE at 7 p.m. PT in the NSCAA Game of the Week on the Fox Soccer Channel.
