OSU's Buckland Named Player of the Week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. — OREGON STATE forward Chelsea Buckland has been named Bank of the West Pac-12 Women's Soccer Player of the Week for Oct. 17-24, Commissioner Larry Scott announced Tuesday.

On Friday, Buckland scored the game-winning goal against then-No. 21 Washington State to give the No. 19 Beavers the 2-1 victory. It was her seventh goal on the season. On Sunday, the Vancouver, B.C., native contributed another goal in OSU's 4-1 defeat of Washington.

The junior leads the team in goals (8) and points (19). Buckland has notched two goals and two assists in Oregon State's last five contests, of which the Beavers have won four.

This is Buckland's second Pac-12 Player of the Week honor this season and the 11th all-time selection for Oregon State.

The Beavers host No. 1 Stanford on Friday at 7 p.m. PT and California on Sunday at 1 p.m. PT.
