UCLA, USC In NCAA Semifinals Today

The hunt for the Pac-12's 14th title continues as UCLA and USC punched their tickets to San Antonio for the NCAA Tournament semifinal round on Thursday, Dec. 15. The national championship game will be played on Saturday, Dec. 17. All matches will be televised live on ESPN2 and streamed on ESPN3.com. The ninth-seeded Bruins will take on 12th-seeded Florida State, while seventh-seeded USC battles #3-seed Illinois on Thursday.

No other conference in the country has more national championships than the Pac-12. Boasting the most storied history in the 31-years of the NCAA Tournament, this week's final rounds mark the 14th time at least two Pac-12 teams have played in the semifinals and the 28th time at least one league team has participated.

The Trojans are making their second-straight national semifinal appearance. It is the first time since going three years in a row from 2002-2004 the Women of Troy are making back-to-back appearances. The Bruins are back in the semis for the first time since 2006.

Seven Pac-12 teams earned NCAA Tournament bids this year and three were seeded in the top 16 ... USC claimed the Pac-12's automatic bid after winning the first-ever Pac-12 Championship title ... The Conference has sent at least six teams to the NCAA Tournament for 12-consecutive years ... There have been 26 upsets by Pac-12 teams so far this season ... In the latest AVCA Coaches poll, USC is the No. 1 team in the nation, followed by No. 4 UCLA, No. 6 Cardinal, No. 10 Golden Bears, No. 11 Huskies and the No. 13 Ducks.
