Top-25 Duals Highlight Pac-12 Gymnastics

The Pac-12 Conference has continued to perform exceptionally well thus far in the season. Entering the fourth week of the season, the Conference has a major presence in the national top-25 with six of eight teams among the nation's elite - No. 1 UCLA, No. 3 UTAH, No. 10 OREGON STATE, No. 12 STANFORD, No. 15 ARIZONA and No. 22 WASHINGTON. The Conference has had at least five teams ranked in the top-25 in each week of the season.

All eight of the Pac-12 gymnastics teams will be in action this week, providing some major match-ups. Highlighting the week in Pac-12 action, No. 22 Washington will play host to No. 1 UCLA. No. 10 Oregon State will also face a huge challenge this week when it welcomes the undefeated and No. 12-ranked Stanford Cardinal.

In other action around the Conference, in-state rivalries will take center stage. Arizona State hosts No. 15 Arizona, California will travel to UC Davis, and No. 3 Utah returns from a bye week to welcome BYU.

Pac-12 Team Notes

ARIZONA: The Wildcats travel up the road to take on Arizona State in Tempe this week. Last week, Arizona fell in its home opener to then-No. 4 Oregon State, 194.825-194.375. Leading the Wildcats this week will be seniors Deanna Graham and Katie Matusik, along with junior Molly Quirk, who all performed exceptionally well in last week's meet against the Beavers.

ARIZONA STATE: Fresh off its first Conference win over California, Arizona State welcomes rival Arizona to town for their second Conference meet in as many weeks. The Sun Devils will look to keep its perfect record intact as they conclude a three-meet home stretch to open the season.

CALIFORNIA: California will travel to UC Davis this week looking to get back in the win column after suffering losses in each of its past two meets. The Bears have continued to improve statistically each week and hope that trend continues as they face an Aggies team that has already been tested by both Arizona State and Stanford.

OREGON STATE: Oregon State returns home this Friday to face Stanford in what is expected to be an exciting Pac-12 dual. Senior Leslie Mak paced the Beavers in their win against Arizona last week, winning the all-around with a score of 39.400 for the second straight week. For her efforts, Mak, received Pac-12 Special Performance of the Week honors.

STANFORD: The Cardinal have gotten off to an impressive start this season at 4-0. Against a very good Washington squad last week, senior Nicole Pechanec earned her first collegiate victory in the all around, scoring a 39.250. This will be Stanford's last home meet until March 4th as the Cardinal will be on the road for its next five meets.

UCLA: The Bruins returned to the No. 1 spot in the polls this week after recording a national-best 197.575 against San Jose State. Sophomore Samantha Peszek won the all-around for the third consecutive meet, recording a career high 9.950 on the vault. Peszek was also name the Pac-12 Gymnast of the Week for the second time this season.

UTAH: Utah returns to action against BYU after being off last week. The Utes are currently No. 1 on both the beam (49.138 avg.) and floor (49.313 avg.). Freshman Georgia Dabritz has made her presence felt early in the season as she is currently ranked No. 1 on the floor, averaging a score of 9.938.

WASHINGTON: Washington welcomes UCLA to Alaska Airlines Arena for its home opener after traveling for the first three weeks of the season. The Huskies have improved upon their combined team score each week, scoring 195.725 in a narrow loss to Stanford. Junior Amanda Cline won her second vault of title of the season with a season-high 9.875.
