Six Teams In NCBWA Preseason Poll

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. — Six Pac-12 baseball teams have been named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association preseason Division I poll, as released by the NCBWA on Friday.

STANFORD received the Pac-12's highest ranking at No. 4. ARIZONA STATE comes in at No. 15, while in-state rival ARIZONA follows at No. 18. UCLA is ranked 20th, OREGON STATE is ranked 22nd and 2011 College World Series participant CALIFORNIA is ranked 26th.

NCBWA weekly polls will resume from Feb. 21-June 28 with the finale following the 66th annual 2012 NCAA World Series in Omaha, Neb. The poll voters come from 40 college baseball writers and related media persons from throughout the nation. After a preseason Top 35 listing, the remainder of the polls will feature a national Top 30 beginning with the Feb. 21 NCBWA survey.

The 2012 season begins Friday, Feb. 17.
