CU No. 10 seed In First Pac-12 Tournament Appearance

BOULDER - The University of Colorado women's basketball team will be the No. 10 seed in the 2012 Pacific Life Pac-12 Tournament and face No. 7 seed Utah in a first round game on Wednesday, March 7, at 6 p.m. MST at the Galen Center on the USC campus in Los Angeles.

Colorado, 17-12 overall, finished in sole possession of 10th place in the Pac-12 with a record of 6-12. Utah, 15-14 overall, completed league play in a seventh place tie with Washington at 8-10, winning the tiebreaker for the higher seed by virtue of its regular season win over the Huskies. The Buffaloes and Utes split their season series, each winning on the road. Colorado claimed a 58-52 decision in the Pac-12 opener in Salt Lake City on Dec. 31. Utah won an overtime bout in Boulder, 61-56, on Feb. 18.

The winner of Wednesday's game will play No. 2 seed California on Thursday, March 8, at 6 p.m. at the Galen Center. All Pac-12 Tournament first and second round games will be streamed live on the league's YouTube page at: YouTube.com/pac12conf. All live streams will be free of charge and no registration is necessary.

The semifinals and championship game will move to the STAPLES Center and be televised live on Fox Sports Net (ROOT Sports in the Rocky Mountain Region). Semifinal games will be played at 1 & 3:30 p.m. on Friday, March 9. The championship game is set for 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 10.

All Colorado games will be carried live on KKZN AM 760 and online audio coverage is also available through the free audio subscription at BuffsTV at CUBuffs.com.
