Utah's McAllister Scholar-Athlete Of The Year
WALNUT CREEK, Calif. — Utah senior Stephanie McAllister has been named Pac-12 Women's Gymnastics Scholar-Athlete-of-the-Year, presented by Toyo Tires, it was announced today by Commissioner Larry Scott.
McAllister, a three-time All-American from Indianapolis, Ind., carries a 3.618 cumulative GPA in mass communications with a minor in entrepreneurship. She has previously interned with the Utah athletics marketing department and will move into a full-time internship position with the department next year.
Toyo Tires will donate $1,000 to Utah's athletic scholarship fund in recognition of McAllister's accomplishment.
A Scholar-Athlete-of-the-Year is named in each of the Pac-12's sponsored sports. In cooperation with corporate sponsor Toyo Tires, The Pac-12 Conference established the "Pac-12 Scholar-Athlete of the year awards, presented by Toyo Tires" during the 2008-2009 academic year.
