UW's Williams Men's Golfer Of The Month

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. -- Chris Williams of WASHINGTON has been named the Pac-12 Men's Golfer of the Month for March, Commissioner Larry Scott announced today.

Williams, a junior from Moscow, Idaho, finished first at the Bandon Dunes Championship with a 9-under par 204 (71-67-66) to lead Washington to a tie for first in the team race. He finished six shots better than runner up Kevin Lim of Long Beach State in recording his fifth victory of his UW career, and moved him past former All-Americans Brock Mackenzie and Nick Taylor in the Husky record book. His 66 on the final round broke the course record of 67 he established earlier in the championship.

At the Stanford U.S. Intercollegiate, Williams finished in a tie for 12th after he fired a pair of rounds in the 60s and posted a 3-over par 213 (68-77-68).

In six rounds of play in March, Williams shot four rounds of 68 or better.
