WOODLAND, Calif.-The University of Colorado had 19 indoor track and field student-athletes selected as Mountain Pacific Sports Federation All-Academic Scholar-Athletes for the 2012 season on Monday.
To be chosen for this distinction, honorees must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.00, must be a sophomore academically, must have completed at least one academic year with their institution, and must have competed in at least 50 percent of the institution's competition. 12 women's athletes and seven men's athletes earned the selection for CU.
Sophomores Nikki Look and Rachel Viger were two out of only six women's MPSF All-Academic selections to have recorded a GPA of 4.00 or higher, each posting 4.00 averages. Other Buffs selected to the women's list were seniors Lara Darco, Kirsten Wicks, and Katie Dreher; juniors Alyssa Frank, Holly Odneal, Liz Tremblay, Brianne Beemer, and Emily Hunsucker; and sophomores Diana George and Courtney Bouchet.
Junior Jerome Perkins had the highest GPA of CU's men's selections with a 3.80 average. Also selected to the MPSF All-Academic men's list were seniors Stephen Kasica and Jake Timmons, juniors Matt Biegner and Cameron Hutchins, sophomore Ryan Savercool, and redshirt freshman Blake Theroux.
