PULLMAN, Wash. - CALIFORNIA senior Daniela Holmqvist posted the field's lowest round with a 4-under 68 as the Golden Bears grabbed the lead after the second round of the 2012 Pac-12 Women's Golf Championships at the Palouse Ridge Golf Club in Pullman, Wash. Cal heads into Sunday's final round with a 13-over 589, three strokes ahead of COLORADO.

"It was a real team effort," Cal head coach Nancy McDaniel said. "Finishing the last three holes under par was our goal and really being in it at this stage of the game is the goal as well. We're pretty happy and the Bears haven't been in this position for awhile, so this is a team that can really play well and give it a solid effort tomorrow."

Holmqvist, who shot a 5-over 77 on Friday, is tied for first with ARIZONA STATE senior Giulia Molinaro as both posted 145 (+1) after two days of action. Holmqvist finished the day with five birdies, including three straight on the final three holes. Her total of 68 set the women's collegiate single-round record at Palouse Ridge.

"I played well today," said the Stockholm, Sweden, native. "I just tried to keep the ball in play. I made some putts at the end and had a really fun day with a good playing partner out there."

Molinaro, who was the only golfer to finish under par on Friday with a 1-under 71, carded a 74 (+2) in the second round. Colorado's Jennifer Coleman and UCLA's Erynne Lee are close behind, tied for third with a 1-over 146.

The Buffaloes was the second team to finish under-par on the day, posting a 4-under 284. Colorado began the round in sixth place, but were turning heads from the start.

"The team came out, putted well made a lot of birdies on the back nine," said Colorado head coach Anne Kelly. "The Pac-12 is such a strong conference that we're trying to come in and make a splash."

Senior Emily Talley had a 69 (-3) on the day and is tied for fifth, while sophomore Alex Stewart also shot under-par with a 71.

UCLA sits in third with an 18-over 594, while USC (595, +19) and ARIZONA STATE (597, +21) round out the top five.
