Thirteen Named All-Americans

STARKVILLE, Miss. - The National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced the 2012 NFCA Division I All-America teams on Wednesday, and 13 Pac-12 softball players were honored. The Pac-12 and the SEC led all conferences with 13 selections each. UCLA led Pac-12 teams with four All-Americans while CALIFORNIA had three players honored. ARIZONA STATE and OREGON had two apiece, while STANFORD and WASHINGTON had one.

The Pac-12 has three teams participating in the Women's College World Series, which begins Thursday, May 31, in Oklahoma City. Top-seeded California, making its 12th appearance, will face LSU at 2:30 p.m. CT. Third-seeded Arizona State, the defending national champion, and No. 11 Oregon play for the third time this season at 8:30 p.m. CT. The Pac-12 has captured 23 of 30 NCAA Championships in softball, including the last six.
