NOTES: Top-ranked Washington leads three Pac-12 teams at the 2012 IRA Championships. The Huskies are undefeated on the season, winning every race by open water, including all four at the Pac-12 Championships on May 13. Washington is searching for its 15th IRA national championship, awarded to the winner of the varsity eight grand final. The Huskies are also looking to repeat for the first time since capturing back-to-back titles in 1940 and 1941. In addition, UW has won the Ten Eyck Trophy for the last five years, accumulating the most overall points as a team. The Huskies won four of five races last year. California owns 16 IRA national titles in its program history, with the most recent coming in 2010. The Golden Bears are second all-time after Cornell, winners of 26 IRA crowns. Cal finished second at the Pac-12 Championships, earning silver medals in all four events. The Bears varsity eight placed third at last year's IRA Championships, while the freshman eight capped an undefeated season with a national title. Cal has captured gold in the freshman eight in three of the last five years. Stanford heads to New Jersey after placing third at the Pac-12 Championships. The Cardinal finished third in both the varsity and second varsity eights and fourth in the freshman eight. At the 2011 IRA Championships, Stanford's varsity four took fifth while the varsity eight earned an eighth-place finish.
