SDSU's Ongaro named Pac-12 player of the week

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - The Pac-12 Conference office announced SAN DIEGO STATE junior forward Jordan Ongaro as the Pac-12 Men's Soccer Player of the Week for the week of Sept. 9- Sept. 16.
Ongaro, a native of Alberta, Canada, scored a total of four goals and had one assist over the weekend to help lead the Aztecs to a 2-0 finish at the UCR/Courtyard by Marriott Soccer Invitational. On Friday, the Aztecs faced Nebraska-Omaha where Ongaro scored the first goal of the game in the fifth minute. SDSU faced North Florida on Sunday, winning with a score of 9-0. Ongaro tallied a hat trick on the day, scoring the second, third, and fourth goals for the Aztecs, all within 38 minutes of each other. To finish off the day Ongaro added an assist just before the first half ended.
This is Ongaro's first-career weekly honor and SDSU's 16th all-time player of the week.
The Aztecs will be featured on the Pac-12 Networks twice this season, with an unprecedented total of 28 live Pac-12 men's soccer games aired on the Networks.
