Pac-12 teams set to square off at cross country championships

PAC-12 TELEVISION COVERAGE ... For the first time ever, the Pac-12 Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships will be on television, with tape-delayed coverage of the championships airing on the Pac-12 Networks (list of air times are listed on page 1). Dwight Stones will serve as the analyst, while Jim Watson will provide play-by-play.

PAC-12 LIVE COVERAGE ... Exclusive content on every Pac-12 men's and women's cross country team will be available on the Pac-12's official website at Hover over the 'Events' tab on the navigation bar and click on 'Cross Country' or click on the link: Previews, as well as real-time coverage on the day of the championships, will be posted, inlcuding live stats, twitter updates and facebook update. In addition, fans can download facebook cover photos now. At the conclusion of the race, official results and recaps will be posted on the championships page.

2012 PAC-12 CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS RESULTS ... Real-time split times for the men's and women's races and see who crosses the line first as it happens with live stats updates on the Pac-12 website ( on the cross country championshpis page ( Stats are unofficial until following the championships when official final results for both races will be available at the championship page.

POLL NOTES ... Four men's teams are ranked in the latest USTFCCCA Coaches poll, with both COLORADO and STANFORD earning top-three rankings. The Buffs lead the men's teams at No. 3, while the Cardinal is just behind with a No. 3 national ranking. The Buffs' win at the Pre-National Invitational propelled them to No. 2, while Stanford's win at the Wisconsin Invitational pushed it to the top-three, as well. OREGON also had a good showing at the Pre-National meet which led to a seven-spot jump into the top-10 to land at No. 8. UCLA has had a series of good showings lately, and is No. 15 in the latest poll, improving by 13 spots in the poll. ARIZONA STATE is receiving votes.

On the women's side, half the Pac-12 teams are ranked in the most recent national ranking, including four teams in the top six. League teams have posted impressive results in the last couple of weeks, led by OREGON's second-place finish at the Pre-National meet. The Ducks are ranked No. 3 in the nation, followed by No. 4 STANFORD, No. 5 ARIZONA and No. 6 WASHINGTON. The Huskies have been ranked as high as No. 1 in the nation. The Wildcats were ranked as high as No. 2 earlier tis year, after defeating the then-No. 1 Huskies at the Greater Louisville Classic earlier this month. COLORADO is ranked No. 21, while UCLA has jumped into the national rankings for the first time this season and is No. 24.

WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE? ... The NCAA Regional Championships will be Fri., Nov. 9. The Mountain Regional (hosted by Colorado State University) will be held in Fort Collins, Colo. and West Regional (hosted by University of Washington) in Seattle. The NCAA National Championships are being held in Louisville, Ky. (hosted by University of Louisville) on Saturday, Nov. 17.

NEXT YEAR ... Colorado will host the 2013 Pac-12 Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013.
