Seven teams ranked in USA Today/NFCA softball preseason poll

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - The Pac-12 leads all conferences with seven teams ranked in the USA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25 Preseason Poll as the National Fastpitch Coaches Association released their poll.

CALIFORNIA leads the Conference with a No. 3 ranking, followed quickly by ARIZONA STATE at No. 4 and OREGON in the No. 5 slot. ARIZONA ranks next for the Pac-12 with a No. 13 placing. WASHINGTON and UCLA are slotted No. 16 and No. 19, respectively. STANFORD rounds out the Pac-12 rankings at No. 21. OREGON STATE received votes, but did not reach the top 25 rankings.

The SEC and Big 12 both had five teams ranked in the top 25, with the six other conferences having just one or two teams ranked.

The Pac-12 softball season begins Friday, Feb. 8 with six teams participating in the Kajikawa Classic in Tempe, Ariz. And UCLA hosting the Stacy Winsberg Memorial Tournament.
