The University of Utah has suspended women's swimming coach Greg Winslow following allegations of sexual abuse of a minor leveled against him by a parent.
According to a Pac-12 Conference spokesman, "The Pac-12 is aware of the situation and we are monitoring it closely as these are serious allegations."
Earlier, Utah director of athletics Dr. Chris Hill has made the following statement:
"The Athletics Department first learned of the allegations against our swim coach Greg Winslow last night," said Utah Director of Athletics Dr. Chris Hill. "While it is my understanding from an article published this morning that charges have not been filed against Coach Winslow, I feel the allegations are serious enough to suspend him immediately pending further investigation."
Hill appointed Richard Marschner, currently Utah's diving coach, to oversee the women's swimming team too in Winslow's absence. Utah currently is competing at the Pac-12 Championships in Federal, Way, Wash.
